An internationally-acclaimed documentary filmmaker will screen his latest project at Illinois State University. Gerry Straub will show his film "Mud Pies and Kites" at Capen Auditorium. It's about Haiti before and after the devastating earthquake. Straub says he wants to help the poor by allowing them to explain their plight through film. He says the images he saw in Haiti will forever be with him.
Straub accompanied doctors as they worked their way through a fallen hillside village.
Straub says the situation appears hopeless, but he can't give up.
