The Bloomington Police Department has donated 49 bicycles to the West Bloomington Revitalization Project. Rick Heiser of the project says the donations and more than 100 bikes in all will be handed out during the Walk-in-bike-out event on Global Youth Service Day.

Heiser also says bicycles can help leverage economic development on a small scale...

Heiser says bicycles can also help low income people keep jobs and save money on gas. Home Sweet Home Mission and Vitesse Cycle shop have also donated bicycles. Volunteers are cleaning and rehabbing the bikes. The distribution will be at the Lincoln parking Deck on April 21st.
