Twin city residents will see water bills go up this spring. Trustees for the Bloomington and Normal Water Reclamation District raised fees by $2 a month for the first thousand gallons of water and $1.70 a month for every thousand gallons beyond that. That'll cost an average family about a dollar a month, and is expected to bring in just over $1-Million dollars for the district. The money will be used to put a lining in an east side sewer pipe that's started to rust, and buy new vehicles for the district.
