Panelists urged for immigration reform at a program held Thursday at Illinois Wesleyan University's Hansen Student Center in Bloomington. One panelist, Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran says it's difficult seeing families torn apart when Immigration and Customs Enforcement detains individuals already living in the US.
Sheriff Curran was joined by Chicago immigration attorney, Carlina Tapia-Ruano, IWU professor Arturo Garcia and Father Gregg Petri of St. Mary's Church in Bloomington. The panel discussion was sponsored by the League of Women Voters of McLean County.
