State Farm's peripheral lines of business improve

Along with overall financial results, State Farm Insurance has also released data indicating two of its more recent lines of business may be maturing. Spokesman Dick Luedke says State Farm Bank made a profit, which has happened only a few times since the bank was founded in 1999.

   

Total assets of State Farm Bank grew $400 million to $15.1 billion. And for the first time ever, State Farm's line of mutual funds made a profit. That profit was a million dollars on $6 billion in assets.
