Acousticity brings you bluegrass, singer/songwriter, Celtic and other roots musics. It's the whole spectrum of acoustic music from Doc Watson to the Duhks, from the Stanley Brothers to the Avett Brothers. In 2012, we're celebrating our twentieth year on the air. It's "flexible folk" and it's only on GLT.
FEBRUARY 2012
February 5, 2012 NEW RELEASE: The Matt Flinner Trio has played twice in BloNo in the past year. Hear the latest from their "musique du jour" project, in which they perform songs they wrote the same day. The CD is called "Winter Harvest." Also, old favorites from The Duhks, Dar Williams and Steve Goodman.
February 12, 2012 NEW RELEASE: "Church of the Never Wrong" is a new "gospel" project (or as they say, "spirited, with a wink" from the quirky Chicago trio Sons of the Never Wrong. It features guest appearances from the likes Don Stiernberg, Corky Siegel and Megon McDonough. Plus, we'll monitor the winners in relevant categories from tonight's Grammy awards show.
February 19, 2012 NEW RELEASE: "Light in the Sky" is the most recent evidence that Red Molly exceeds the sum of its significant parts - three fine singers and instrumentalists - when they take on great songs by Darrell Scott, Gillian Welch and Mark Erelli. And don't miss our latest feature - "Obsessive Segue Disorder" - your chance to win a CD if you can guess what's making Bruce put those 3 songs together at 9:30 PM.
February 26, 2012 NEW RELEASE: The Punch Brothers, including Chris Thile and "banjo diva" Noam Pikelny, ask the musical question "Are You Feeling Young Now?" on their third release. We'll also have some youthful music from Bob Dylan, Guy Clark and Jerry Douglas.
