The state of McLean County is not as good as it has been, but by working together area governments can get things back on track.  That common theme was presented by all four speakers at the annual Chamber of Commerce event.

Bloomington and Normal's mayors, Tari Renner and Chris Koos shared the podium with McLean County Board chairman Matt Sorenson, and representing rural towns, John Mohr, mayor of Lexington. Matt Sorenson pointed to the "B-N Advantage" effort underway as a prime example of different entities working together.

Sorenson says the key to successful work is finding more ways to work together. The economy is also an issue that received a lot of attention. In highlighting the need for collaboration, Sorensen cited the closing of Mitsubishi Motors Manufacturing, lay offs at Caterpillar in Peoria, and a new focus by Bloomington's State Farm Insurance on new hubs in three southern states.
