A 25-year-old Normal woman was killed in a crash on Interstate 74 northwest of Normal, the Peoria County coroner said Friday.
Rachel A. Dean was apparently traveling eastbound on I-74 near Mitsubishi Parkway on Thursday afternoon when her vehicle left the roadway, went through a guardrail, and came to a rest in the ditch, said Coroner Jamie Harwood.
Dean was first transported to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal but later flown to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was pronounced dead at 7:22 p.m. Thursday.
The crash led to traffic delays during the afternoon commute.
