A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot in the face Saturday in Bloomington.
Police found the boy inside a residence in the 1400 block of North Lee Street after being called around 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Bloomington police said. The boy had an apparent gunshot wound to his face, police said. He was taken to the hospital and is reportedly in critical condition, police said Monday.
Emerial I. Tutwiler, 18, of Bloomington was arrested and faces a preliminary charge of reckless discharge of a firearm which endangers the bodily safety of an individual, police said.
Tutwiler allegedly put his hands in the air and said, "I did this, it was an accident," as police arrived on scene, according to a probable cause statement read in court by prosecutors.
