Tazewell County Deputies Shoot Rural Mackinaw Man

Tazewell County sheriff's police killed a man near Mackinaw Friday morning. The 18-year-old was at a residence at 34368 State Route 9 and had shot at a deputy.

The Peoria County coroner's office lists the time of death as 10:40 a.m. and said an autopsy is planned for Saturday. The coroner's office said the man had more than one wound, though the exact number of times he was shot is not yet known.

State Police are investigating the incident.
