Paper Tigers: The Movie

Paper Tigers; The Movie

Children learn poorly when stressed or traumatized. And that traumatic response can last lifelong unless something happens to turn around the damage. Later this month, the Unit Five Education Association is screening the movie "Paper Tigers" during American Education Week. Karl Goeke is the President of the UFEA. Goeke says the movie focuses on a School in Walla Walla, Washington. It's an alternative school that focuses on kids whose needs are framed by childhood traumas. The goal is to build a community of educators that have more tools in their kid to reach children like these and some in mainstream schools, instead of trying to discipline away  the behaviors.

There's more on the Paper Tiger ISU free screening March 30th at the UFEA Facebook page or the movie site.
