Bloomington Mayor Tari Renner says he can see why Springfield's mayor is saying he wants people who get a city check to live in the city. Nearly a third of capitol city employees don't. Renner says he understands why Michael Houston wants to implement the policy. City employees would pay city property taxes and have an investment in the community. But, he says there's another side.

Renner says he will likely not recommend the city of Bloomington implement the change. Mayor Chris Koos of Normal says he doesn't think an employee's address should matter.
