Mitsubishi: A Year After Closing Announcement

Creative Commons

The first anniversary of the announcement of the closure of the Mitsubishi Auto plant in Normal is this weekend.

GLT is revisiting the several former workers we've followed since then.

Kent Ferguson is a tool and die maker who spent 27 years at Mitsubishi. When last we talked in January, Ferguson was headed for California to work for Tesla Motors.

Ferguson said that's not where he is now. He is at Fiat Chrysler in Belvidere, Illinois. He spoke with Charlie Schlenker.

WGLT Senior Reporter Charlie Schlenker has spent more than three award-winning decades in radio. He lives in Normal with his family.
