McLean County Board District Five: Selzer Wins

McLean County Government

Incumbent McLean County Board member Dave Selzer won handily, even though Selzer's opponent Kimberly Pfeifer, did not campaign much.

Selzer said he did not take the district five race in Normal for granted."You have to work hard. I think I worked extremely hard. I had signs up. I went door to door. That's not easy to do. But, that grass roots effort is what makes the difference for everybody," said Selzer.

Selzer said his opponent benefitted from support for Hillary Clinton in his district and he had to work hard to counter that.

Selzer said he is pleased he outperformed the top of the ticket in the district.

"I think that people absolutely were loud and clear they did not want business as usual. They want to make sure their tax dollars are taken care of and all of those things that we talked about," said Selzer.
