McLean County Board Chair Defends Committee Assignments

McLean County Board members have given a little heat to the building and zoning department over a lack of transparency involving a change to wind farm rules.

And some board members are upset they didn't move up the food chain to chair committees in the wake of the latest shuffle of panel assignments.

"The Vice Chairs I think are in a position for a reason and when there is a vacated seat that the Vice Chair if served admirably should have the ability to move up," said board member Eric Rankin.

Rankin was among a handful of board members voting against the new appointments by County Board Chair John McIntyre. Rankin had a personal stake, he could have become Finance Committee Chair if McIntyre had gone for strict seniority. In this conversation with GLT's Charlie Schlenker, McIntyre tells why he did not.
