Ken Lam

One of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra Music Director finalists is internationally educated with a background in multi-national law and finance.

But, music has always been a part of Hong Kong native Ken Lam's life, starting with violin and moving to conducting. Lam directs the ISO at Second Presbyterian Church, Saturday evening.

GLT's Charlie Schlenker continues a series of interviews with finalists and talks with Lam who says moonlighting with the recording label Naxos led to conducting.

WGLT Senior Reporter Charlie Schlenker has spent more than three award-winning decades in radio. He lives in Normal with his family.
