As part of the general budget planning process Illinois State University goes through every year, the administration offers guidance to Deans and Department Chairs to come up with spending plans. This year that guidance includes a 22 and a quarter percent cut in state funding. Without even THIS year's budget that's a dart thrown at a board, not a real prediction. GLT's Charlie Schlenker talks with ISU Vice President for Finance and Planning Greg Alt about coming up with the estimate and what it means.

ISU VP Greg Alt says ISU can manage its fiscal situation through the fall when tuition payments will ease the cash flow issue, even if lawmakers and the Governor continue to avoid passing a budget.
