ISO To Perform Magnificent Masters

The Illinois Symphony Orchestra is getting ready to wind down its season with the next to last concert of the series. The ISO is bringing in a rising star Mezzo Soprano, Julie Boulianne.

She frequently sings with the Metropolitan Opera in New York and headlines other major opera companies around the world.

GLT's Charlie Schlenker talks with ISO Music Director Alastair Willis about Boulienne and the bill of fare.

Alastair Willis is the Music Director of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, performing this evening at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts.

During this interview you heard Mezzo Soprano Julie Boulianne performing Ravel from The Child and the Spells, Elina Galanca singing an aria from La Clemenza di Tito, Myung Whun Chung conducting the Tokyo Symphony in the third movement of  Mahler's 4th, Leonard Bernstein conducting the New York Philharmonic in the fourth movement of the Mahler, Eva Batori singing an aria from Don Giovanni and John Elliot Gardiner conducting the Baroque Ensemble in a performance of the Overture to the Marriage of Figaro.
