A former radio host said he is running for Mayor of Bloomington as an anti-establishment candidate.
Ian Bayne joins incumbent Tari Renner and Council members Diana Hauman and Kevin Lower as announced Mayoral candidates."Bloomington has gone through so much suffering in the current administration. I think it takes an outsider to turn it around," said Bayne.
Bayne said every line in the budget needs to be read for possible cuts. And then taxes need to be reduced.
" Sales taxes will drive out businesses, small businesses particularly. The garbage tax is going to hurt residents. Property tax is hurting residents. Mismanaged city streets are a mess. There are a lot of things wrong with the city," said Bayne.
Bayne says the race involves a bunch of insiders running, and him. He says people are sick of the establishment and that's why Donald Trump won.
The first day to file petitions for the April election is Monday, November 21.
