High Response Rate For Unit Five Bus Survey

Creative Commons

The Unit Five School District has been getting a lot of feedback on a survey of transportation options. Unit Five is trying to cut a million dollars from its transportation budget. Superintendent Mark Daniel says parents and students are keenly interested in the bus schedule. More than 4,000 parents and 1,000 Unit Five School District workers have expressed their opinions of new transportation schedule options.

Potential options include retaining the current three tier system and a couple versions of a two tier system with a 7:30 start time and an 8:20 start time. One of those starts High School students late and elementary kids early, the other flips the age groups.

Daniel says the on line survey lasts till Friday evening.

The survey remains on line until Friday evening. Unit five will use the results to decide its new bus schedule next month.

Daniel says the early look shows evenly divided responses from among families with high school and younger children.
