One of the things that changed with the New Year is the departure of a longtime fixture on the McLean County bench. Circuit Judge Charles Reynard retired. He has been a private lawyer, defender, prosecutor, State's Attorney, and Judge. In this conversation with GLT's Charlie Schlenker, Reynard talks about how the justice system has changed since he began his career in 1975. Reynard says when he started there were five Assistant State's Attorneys. He was one of them. Now there are more than 20. The number of cases streaming through the system has grown, he says, both because of population increases and the number of laws to enforce and break.
Judge Charles Reynard talks about his plans to write another book of poetry.
