The Bloomington City Council will not be considering a welcoming cities ordinance tonight. It was pulled from the agenda at the request of five aldermen, but aldermen will get an earful from a coalition of groups pushing for the law affording some protections to the immigrant community. The group is upset that the ordinance was pulled and newly revealed emails are showing a close relationship between the Bloomington Police with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. The coalition is asking their memberships to attend tonight's council meeting. You'll hear from the director of the Illinois ACLU and Police Chief Brendan Heffner.
