Two Twin Cities arts organizations are uniting for a performance of an opera that has it all -- love, hate and everything in between. And they manage to get it all in in just one act. Laura Kennedy has more in this edition of the GLT Datebook.
*"Cavalleria Rusticana" is a one-act wonder that's full of passion and excitement and was composed by Pietro Mascagni in 1890.
*John Koch from the Midwest Institute of Opera is also the conductor of the ISU Civic Choral, and he suggested the two organizations work together to bring the opera to the ISU CPA stage on April 2nd at 8 PM.
*This is a concert version -- no costumes or sets. It's a chorus-intense opera and is full of emotion.
*There's more information at the Midwest Institute of Opera web page.
