GLT Datebook: Let's Go Fly A Kite

Kite Fest 2018 on Sunday, May 6, combines family fun with raising awareness of nonprofits in the community.

  • The organization For a Better Tomorrow organizes Kite Fest, with Tejas Jani and Steve Grady taking the lead on the event. Admission is free. The event takes place at the U-High practice fields in Normal.
  • Sponsorships and kite sales are the key fundraising aspects of this event. The money raised will help charities both locally and globally.
  • In addition to kite flying, the event includes demonstrations by the Normal Police's K-9 Unit, face painting, live music and more.
  • Many local nonprofits will be present and will offer opportunities to learn more about their work and opportunities to volunteer.
