GLT Datebook: Habitat For Humanity Fundraisers Help Build The Future

Habitat for Humanity of McLean County
Women Build of Habitat For Humanity are hosting a fundraiser.

Habitat For Humanity of McLean County is giving you two opportunities to support the organization and put a roof over someone's head.

The Women Build Bunco Blitz is Oct. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at Eastland Suites in Bloomington. The event uses the fun dice game of Bunco to raise funds for Women Build, a special program of Habitat for Humanity that gives women a chance to pick up a hammer and help build a new home for a deserving family. The event also features a silent auction. The entrance fee is $25 per person.

Coming up on Oct. 12 at 7 a.m.—yes, that's 7 o'clock in the actual morning—it's the annual Blueprint Breakfast at the Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center in Bloomington. It's free and breakfast will be served (yea!).  You'll need to register in advance. This event provides funding for local families to build their own homes and pay an affordable mortgage.

WGLT depends on financial support from users to bring you stories and interviews like this one. As someone who values experienced, knowledgeable, and award-winning journalists covering meaningful stories in central Illinois, please consider making a contribution.
