Fresh Market has announced it's closing its stores in Normal and 14 other locations.
The Greensboro, North Carolina-based company said it was closing “long-term, underperforming stores,” but added the company plans to relocated as many impacted employees as possible.
“Over the last eight months, our company has been executing a turnaround plan and we’ve seen great progress,” CEO Larry Appel said in a news release. “However, for a variety of reasons unique to each retail location, that progress is not evenly distributed.”
Three other Illinois locations are also set to close in Peoria, Glen Ellyn and Lincolnshire.
The Fresh Market at 200 Greenbriar Drive in Normal opened in 2009.
The company hasn’t announced a closing date.
