Dobskis To Retire As Bloomington Area McDonald's Owners

staff

The long-time owners of McDonald's restaurants in the Bloomington-Normal area say they will retire early next year.

Bob and Julie Dobski have agreed to sell the ten restaurants they own to other owners by February of 2017. They will remain as owners/operators through January.

The Dobskis came to central Illinois in 1989, when they purchased six restaurants. They subsequently bought others in Bloomington-Normal and Gibson City.

The Dobskis say they will remain in the Bloomington-Normal community and stay active. Julie Dobski opened a child learning center in 2004 and now owns three centers. Bob Dobski is currently in his second stint on the Illinois State University Board of Trustees.

Willis is a Bloomington, IL, native. During his senior year at Bloomington High School, he finished third in the "Radio Speaking" division of the state speech contest, the only year he competed.
