Bloomington City Hall.

The City of Bloomington has a new finance chief.

Scott Rathbun, who is currently the city's senior budget manager, will start his new job as interim finance director May 1. He'll succeed Patti-Lynn Silva, who announced in February her plans to step down for personal reasons. She'll stay with the city as chief accountant.

"(Rathbun) was integral to this year’s budget process and will provide the Finance department with solid leadership during this time of transition," Interim City Manager Steve Rasmussen said Tuesday.

Prior to joining the city, Rathbun was chief finance officer for Bloomington-based Kahuna Business Group. He has over 30 years of professional financial management experience.

Rathbun's new salary will be $110,000.
