Bloomington Council To Discuss Infrastructure Spending

City of Bloomington

The Bloomington City Council will meet in a work session to begin discussing long-term plans for infrastructure in the city, as part of a pending five-year Capital Improvement Plan.

Aldermen will take part in an hour-long presentation and discussion on how to move forward with master plans for streets, sidewalks and bicycles, which includes a Complete Streets ordinance passed last month. They'll also look at traffic signals and other projects such as the Hamilton Road extension.

Council members will be asked to prioritize spending for a five-year period. The session is the second of eight meetings designed to create a balanced CIP, which will also include spending on things such as sewers, water and parks and recreation.
