VenuWorks will take over management of the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts, at least on a temporary basis.
A retired vice president for VenuWorks has been named Interim Director of the BCPA.
Carl St. Clair has a half century of experience in managing convention centers, arenas, performing arts centers, auditoriums, stadiums, and fairgrounds.
According to a city news release, St. Clair will start April 13th. Previous director Tina Salamone passed away unexpectedly last month.
Since 2011, St. Clair has been consulting for VenuWorks on special projects and new business and venue oversight.
The cost for the city of Bloomington is $8,500 a month. St. Clair gets $7,500 of that sum.
VenuWorks also manages the Coliseum in Bloomington.
City Manager David Hales said there is great synergy to be realized between the two facilities at this time.
