Advocate BroMenn Receives Largest Bequest

Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal has received a four million dollar surprise. That's the amount an 83 year old man had left for the hospital when he died last April. Kenneth W. Smith was a longtime resident of Normal, though he had never given to Bromenn before.

Advocate Development Vice President Scott Ford says it’s not uncommon for individuals to keep the contents of their will private, even to the beneficiaries. He says it’s a testament to Mr. Smith’s generosity that he wanted his estate to benefit the community where he lived much of his life.” Smith was a retired farmer and Amtrak Engineer.

It is the largest ever bequest to BroMenn.
