Pat Peterson

Individual Giving Director

Born and raised in Peoria, Illinois, Pat studied theatre at Northern Illinois University before following her passion for books to her first career: managing Barbara's Bookstores in Chicago. Over the years she built new bookstores, renovated old ones, filled them all with great books, entertained an endless parade of international literati, and generally had a swell time.

In 90’s, weary of battling the book chains, she moved to Normal. A lifelong public radio listener, she started volunteering for GLT right away. When GLT's Individual Support Director position opened up in 1996, she talked her way into it. She has never looked back.

Still an avid reader, Pat spends her free time at the Bloomington Public Library, getting grimy in her garden, fuming over politics, and keeping up with friends. She lives in Bloomington and has a radio in every room.
