Mayoral Races:

Normal incumbent Chris Koos is seeking another term as mayor. He is opposed by challengers Victor Connor and JeVaughn Martin. Listen to Charlie Schlenker's March 20 report on this race and interviews with the candidates.

In Bloomington, incumbent Steve Stockton is retiring. He will be replaced either by former challenger and ex-McLean County Board member Tari Renner, former city alderman John Hanson, or ex- Libertarian Party Gubernatorial candidate Lex Green. Normal City Council and Bloomington Aldermanic Races:

In Normal, two incumbents are running for three available slots on the town council. Kevin McCarthy, who was appointed to the council and longtime member Cheryl Gaines. They are running against challengers Gary Ohler, Scott Preston, Jarrod Rackauskas and Ron Ulmer.  Hear Willis Kern's April 2 report on the Normal Town Council race.

Bloomington aldermanic races are being contested in Wards, 1, 3, 5 and 7. Jamie Mathy is the Ward 1 incumbent, but was appointed to the post earlier this year and is running a write-in campaign against challenger Kevin Lower. In Ward 3, incumbent Mboka Mwilambwe is being contested by Lane Hansen. The Ward 5 incumbent, Jennifer McDade is facing Matthew Koetters, and in Ward 7 Scott Black, Ryan Fiala and Bernie Uszcienski are racing for the seat being vacated by Steve Purcell. Purcell lost a primary race in February for the GOP nomination for Township Supervisor. Listen to Charlie Schlenker's report on the races for Bloomington city council.

Municipal Electricity Aggregation:

Voters in both the city of Bloomington and McLean County will be asked to vote yes or no on the proposal to allow for the aggregate purchase of electricity. The measure was previously defeated by Bloomington voters, but was approved last fall in Normal. GLT will provide election night coverage on both proposals.
