Shenanigan's in Peoria is hosting an open blues jam on Sundays, from 4 to 8 PM. 

Hip Pocket is playing at the new Normal Amphitheatre on Sunday, May 18 at 4 PM.

Movies

The historic Normal Theatre is showing a variety of films in April and May: It's a Coen Brothers mini-fest with Barton Fink, April 17, Fargo, April 18, O' Brother Where Art Thou on April 19 and The Big Lebowski on April 20.  Persepolis runs April 24 - 27.  May 1 - 4 it's The Band's Visit.  Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert star in It Happened One Night, May 8 & 9.   Colbert is back in Palm Beach Story, May 10 & 11.  May 13 & 14 it's the Bloomington/Normal Short Film Fest.  May 15 & 16 features live action Oscar Shorts, 2008.  May 17 & 18 it's the animated shorts for 2008.  May 22 - 25 features Taxi to the Dark Side.  And the month rounds out with suspense with Doris Day starring in Midnight Lace, May 29 & 30 and James Stewart starring in Rear Window, May 31 and June 1.   Showtimes are at 7 PM.   309-454-9720
