We're capping off a year of celebrating the 20th anniversary of our folk show Acousticity, with a concert at the Castle Theater from the Sons of the Never Wrong, also celebrating its 20th year as a band this year. How perfect is that?

Throughout 2012, we’ve celebrated the 20th anniversary of Acousticity on the air and off.

  • You voted for your top 3 acoustic songs in the spring. We compiled the Acousticity Top 20 and counted them down in April.
  • We added a dedicated 24/7 Acousticity online stream.
  • We unveiled the Acousticity pint glasses, available at the GLT Shop.
  • Throughout the year, you heard in-studio, live performances from some top Acousticity bands.

You can hear Acousticity, and the music of Sons of the Never Wrong, Sunday night at 8 PM or listen anytime to our 24/7 Acousticity stream.

sons1About the band: "Just plain folk? Not here." Chicago Sun Times

Founding member Bruce Roper is a former home-town boy, who has built a reputation in the folk industry as a brilliant, prolific writer. He has a bit of the wise old poet about him, but holds on dearly to the inner child. Melancholy and heartbreak pair up with wicked humor to make things that are hard to say easy to hear.

Deborah Lader has a wealth of diverse influences that inform her multifaceted music. She has a national reputation as a visual artist, and is a skilled instumentalist of guitar, mandolin and slide banjo. her song-writing and vocal harmonies have added a beautfiul dimension to the Sons since 1999.

Founding member Sue Demel has one of the most unique voices you'll hear anywhere - folk, or otherwise. Her approach to singing incorporates scatting, chanting, and the weaving of a harmonic tapestry that can keep you warm on a cold night. She is an equally gifted songwriter.
