• It's Gypsy Jazz Night every Wednesday at the Red Barn in Peoria. John Miller and the Romaniacs play beginning at 9:30 PM.
• The Mozart Room of the Radisson Hotel in Peoria hosts monthly jazz concerts presented by the Central Illinois Jazz Society. John Miller and the Romantics will play on Jan. 18. Concert time is 6 PM. 309-692-5330

Art Exhibits

• The McLean County Arts Center in Bloomington presents "After Hours", nocturnal landscape paintings by Gerard Erley, Dec. 5 - Jan. 24. 309-828-0011
• Kristen Hartman is showing a collection of black and white photographs at The Coffeehouse in Uptown Normal now through Jan. 18.
• The Contemporary Art Center in Peoria is featuring paintings by Steven Hudson and ceramics by Bradley Ogan Jan. 10 - Feb. 14. Plus, the work of 15 Illinois glass artists will be displayed Jan. 10 - Feb. 28. 309-674-6822

Movies

• The historic Normal Theatre is showing a variety of films during January. The Mike Leigh film Happy-Go-Lucky runs Jan. 8 - 11; Charles Boyer tries to drive Ingrid Bergman mad in Gaslight, Jan. 15 & 16; Ingrid Bergman stars with Cary Grant in the Hitchcock thriller Notorious, Jan. 17 & 18; The documentaries I.O.U.S.A. and Trouble the Water run Jan. 22 & 23 and 24 & 25, respectively. Abbott and Costello join up in Buck Privates (with the Andrews Sisters!) Jan. 29 & 30 and it's one of the all-time great musicals, Singin' in the Rain, Jan. 31 & Feb. 1.
